Grant Macphee was born on November 17, 1958 in Johnstone, Scotland. He and his family immigrated to Canada when he was around two years old and grew up in Burlington, ON. About the age of eighteen, Grant joined the RCMP where he had a very successful thirty year career that brought him to Bassano, AB, Sundre, AB, and finally Calgary, AB, where he lived the rest of his life. He then went onto a career with Suncor Energy for another twelve years before finally retiring.
Grant's dream was to spend his retirement down in Florida where many of his happiest days were spent. Everyone who knew Grant knew that his kids were his biggest passion and that he was a very proud, loving father. Grant was known for his kind, caring, and selfless nature, who cared for the well-being of everyone who he came into contact with.
Grant passed away after a short battle with esophageal cancer on November 12, 2020 in Calgary, AB. He will be deeply missed.
Through this page, we hope to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer. More specifically, we have chosen that the donation will go towards esophageal cancer research. I embrace this mission and hope you do to. With continued support for the Society, fewer people in the future will have to lose their loved ones before their time.
Every donation to your page brings us one step closer to preventing cancer, detecting it earlier, improving treatments and helping Canadians live longer, healthier lives.
Together, we can change cancer forever.
All funds donated through this page will support the work of the Canadian Cancer Society. The Society makes more impact, against more cancers, in more communities, than any other cancer charity in Canada.
