James Archibald Sanderson Lumsden
July 26, 1980 - January 9, 2022
Jaime passed away peacefully on Sunday January 9th. He wasn’t in pain & he was surrounded by family & loved ones. He was initially diagnosed with a very rare appendiceal cancer, this type of cancer typically goes undiagnosed until it is too late, when Jaime was diagnosed it was already stage 4 and had spread to his lungs. He was given years to leave but he only made it 6 months-not because he didn't fight-he fought so hard-but this type of cancer is so rare and so aggressive, he didn't stand a chance.
Anybody who knew Jaime was so blessed, he had the biggest heart & was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was kind & sweet. He had a mischievous streak, a wicked sense of humour and the BEST laugh.
He always made me feel so loved, so special & so valued. He was like that with everyone, when you were with him you felt like the most important person in the world.
He would tell me he loves me 5 times a day. He loved to cuddle & hold hands & slow dance in the kitchen. He was a gentle soul but so, so tough. He fought this battle so hard with everything he had.
He always wanted to be a daddy & he was a complete natural. Even on his worst days he always had a smile for his baby girl, & Gigi always had a big smile for daddy. He couldn’t wait to be able to start chasing her around & playing with her on the floor again.
He loved his family & sports & building things. He was the best unkie, brother, son, coach & friend. He was always so active, he was so strong and so smart. He built us an entire house from scratch, as like, a hobby. I’m so grateful we got to finally move in even though he only got to enjoy the beautiful home he built for a few months. Some of his happiest times were working on the house with his dad, his brother & Tucker.
We had such a beautiful life, we were best friends. We were so in love but we also really LIKED each other.
I’m so lucky & so grateful for every minute we had together baby. You’re the love of my life, you will always be with us & Gigi will always know who her daddy is & what a wonderful, caring, sweet, strong & funny man you were.
Jaime & I were both so blown away by the love & support we received since his diagnosis; from the go-fund-me, to the golf tournament, to all the dropped off meals, he appreciated it all so much. He has such an amazing group of friends but that’s just a testament to how amazing he was.
James I love you so much. I'm sorry we couldn't beat this, I know you didn't give up baby, the other guy just had too much of a head start. I'm so proud of you my love. We'll see each other again.
