It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Kwan Siu Chow (Ma) on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 from complications related to cancer.

Born in China, mom immigrated to Canada with dad and their 4 children (plus one on the way - me) in search of better opportunities for the family.  She was a strong-willed and independent woman who rarely did not get her way.  Through sacrifices, she worked hard to ensure her family's needs were always met.  After retirement, she enjoyed the morning walks to the park for Tai Chi with her neighborhood friends followed by a dim sum lunch.  Mom also enjoyed cooking, gardening and mahjong games with family and friends.  A homebody by nature, she occasionally traveled within Canada and the US to see her children and other family members while enjoying quality time with her family on these road trips.

Mom will be truly missed by all those who knew her.  Rest in peace now and enjoy the walks and mahjong games with dad.

In lieu of flowers, her family is asking for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society to help with research for a cure in the future.  Cancer is a disease that touches all of our lives... thank you for your generosity!
