Three years ago, I lost my mother-in-law, Brenda Sanders, to cancer. She was a sister, aunt, mother, friend and companion. She was also an amazing cook who had a gigantic heart. With an eye for home design, she had the greatest collection of decorations for all the holidays throughout the year, especially Halloween and Christmas. Even though I met her later in life, she quickly became one of my biggest and loudest cheerleaders.
That same year, I made a commitment to grow and donate my hair in her honour. Three years later, this November, I will cut my hair and hope to raise $5,000.
I know we’re affected by so many causes these days and many of us have been impacted by cancer. If you could consider sparing a few dollars to contribute to my fundraising effort, I, alongside Brenda’s retired cheerleading squad, the Sanders clan and her friends, extend our sincerest gratitude.
The funds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for Lung Cancer research.
