On June 22, 2017, myself and my three siblings, lost our mother due to Cancer. Spindle cell Sarcoma is what the doctors believe it was. This was my moms 50th year, she would have turned 50 this December.
My mom started out at the hospital two months before that date, with not feeling well. The Doctor saying that it was bronchitis. We quickly found out that it was not bronchitits. Her lungs filled up with fluid and outside of her lungs filled up with fluid, pushing her organs to the side of her body. My mom spent the rest of her time in the hospital. A couple of days before my mom passed away, the whole family was informed that she was going to be okay, that she was going to be transferred to Toronto Hospital and they were going to clear the cancer entirely. On June 21, we were informed that she was not doing good and she is not safe to transfer. Around 10:00 PM on the 21st, I was at the hospital with my mom, (who was sedated in ICU. The nurse told me that she believes that my mom could hear me but she just cannot communicate back). My Aunt and Uncle and Brother was with me. The doctor asked to speak to us. He told us that my mom was not doing well at all and her organs are shutting down. When we asked how long she had to live, he told us hours. She made it through the night but passed in the morning on the 22nd. The whole family was able to arrive to the hospital in time and stay up all night, and be by her side for when she passed. My mom has four children (two boys, 28 & 27 and two daughters, 24 & 19).
This was very unexpected for all of us, and such a roller coaster ride of different information from different doctors. I do not want people to go through what I had to experience and that is why I want to raise money, to help improve the research on Cancer, to help families from experiencing what I experienced.
