This is my first time relaying. I am doing it for my Dad, who passed away in 2006 and for my Mom who is a bladder Cancer survivor since 2005. Like most people, I have lost other family and friends to cancer.

I was diagnosed with cancer on March 17th, 2011. I thought my death was imminent and was scared for those first few days. I have now changed my attitude to positive thought and have a good sense of humor and great support from family and friends. I have done 10 radiation treatments and will soon be starting chemo. I realize the relay for life in Ottawa is June 10/11 and I hope I will feel up to participating in the Survivors Victory Lap, which I registered for, but it will depend on how I feel once the chemo starts.
