Why I participate in the Relay each year.

Every penny raised goes toward research which will hopefully one day lead to a cure.

I started participating in the Relay for life a few years ago because of a very dear friend who was touched by cancer. She is cancer free today and I am so thankful. That would not have happened without events such as this. Every little bit helps!
Sit down for a minute and think about how many times you hear the word cancer in a day. It is all around us, friends, family, co-workers and one day it could be you who hears those dreadful words. If we do all we can now, there will be hope for the future.
