My Sister Julie

I have done relay for life once before with friends. I found the event very meaningful, and was very proud to of been part. Now I do this in memory of my dear sister whom I lost last year to ovarian cancer. I dedicate this to Julie for her 41st birthday.

Julie began to feel unwell just a few months after having her 2nd child, after examinations a tumor was found coming from the ovary. The tumor was very fast growing and was expected to be cancerous. My sister collapsed while waiting for specialist to examine her tumor. This lead to 3 operations and intensive care. Followed by referral to a cancer hospital in London England, where specialists saw her as a special cancer case. She had mixed cancer cells, and as the chemotherapy was working on some cancer cells, the stronger germ cancer cells were taking over and couldn't be treated. This went into other areas of her body very rapidly. All treatment was stopped and just after 10 1/2 weeks later my sister died, she was meant to leave the hospital and come home to us for a while. She died as quickly as the illness progressed. She was only forty, such a happy loving person with so much to give, she was taken from us way too soon, she leaves a hole in our hearts. She is missed more than anyone can say, and loved endlessly.
