In memory of my dad and hope for my husband

My dad died from colon cancer 15 years ago. In February of 2012, my husband was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer (Stage 3).

Having lost my father to colon cancer, I never dreamed I would have to hear that word again. In February 2012, my husband of 34 years was given the diagnosis that he had Colorectal cancer, Stage 3. In March he had a permanent colostomy and was told he would have to undergo intensive Chemotherapy and radiation over a 6 month period.

He has faced all of this with such determination and a positive attitude and I am so very proud of him. There have been tough times, but together we are a team. Our three kids and their partners, family and great friends have been so supportive and we couldn’t have come this far without them. We have long days with daily trips to Sudbury, and numerous doctors' appointments, blood work, CAT scans, MRI's, etc. the road ahead is unknown, but we won't give up. Relay for life just helps us realize that we are not alone and together we can make a difference. Handlebar Dave still has his mustache!
