The Golden Child... I am a 2 time cancer survivor, in (almost) 7 years remmission. In 2001, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma; as a result of those treatments I developed AML (Leukemia). It happens to 1 in every 10,000 patients. I was the 'Golden Child'. At 28 years old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. My cocktail was ABVD and then 1 round of raidtaion. At my 9 month follow-up, my oncologist noticed my blood levels were off. A week later, I went in for more blood work, the blood levels were still off. I had a bone marrow test, which showed I had developed Leukemia as a result of my treatments. |
