Cancer had affected one too many people in my life.

My name is Alyssa Ottema. I am 19 years old. Cancer had affected one too many people in my life.

My Grandfather is a 4 time cancer survivor, each one more rare and less "survivable" than the last. My Grandma Lorraine passed away from lung cancer in 2008. My best friend's mother passed away last February after an 18 month battle with various cancers. Most recently, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. This horrible disease has bothered too many good people who don't deserve it and I am ready to see it defeated.

I fight cancer because I don't want to see anyone else I love hurt.
