Early Detection Saves Lives
Masha's Story 8 Year Breast Cancer Survivor
I was in a hotel in NY City when I notice a Lump in my Left Breast when I was showering. I came home to St. Catherines and to my GP the following day. He ordered me a Mammogram. This showed a small Growth. Did a needle Biopsy which showed Cancer. The following March I have my Surgery to remove the lump plus some nodes under my arm. They found some of those nodes also were Cancerous. So they removed more and found they weren't Cancerous.
I started Chemo for 8 weeks and 8 weeks of Radiation treatment. After that I was put on Hormone Therapy. Where I suffered a side effect and had a Mini Stroke. Which lead to a total Hysterectomy, and then 2 years after that I had open heart surgery In Toronto. But I am here today because of Early Detection Pamphlet I was given by the Canadian Cancer Society at the Local mall. I’m a Living example of why we should Relay For Life! Thanks Masha (Mary Lynn) Khvostova :)
