BC Government Commits to Cancer Prevention

The Society applauds the BC government for investing in cancer prevention in its 2014 budget. The government recently announced a commitment to fund innovative cancer prevention initiatives while simultaneously increasing taxes on tobacco. Read more.

Cancer immunotherapy, which uses the body’s immune system to help fight cancer cells, has been named by Science Magazine as the “breakthrough” scientific achievement of 2013. We invested more than $1 million in this area last year, including a project in BC. Read more.
