Breast cancer is the most common cancer amongst Canadian women, with an estimated 1 in 8 expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Being screened for breast cancer is important because if cancer is detected early, it can be easier to treat.

The Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program allows all women in Quebec between the ages of 50 and 69 to schedule a screening mammogram every 2 years. This organized screening program funded by the Government of Quebec can detect breast cancer in some women before any symptoms are even noticeable.

With your support, the Memo-mamo campaign and the entire Canadian Cancer Society prevention team can continue its mission to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer for all women in Quebec.
