For more than 20 years, the Canadian Cancer Society has been the driving force behind the Gala des Grands Chefs, an event involving over 3,000 people from the business community and some sixty renowned chefs from eight regions of Quebec.
This year, because of the global pandemic, we won’t be able to gather for a gourmet meal and raise money for the cause like we usually do.
So we turned the Gala des Grands Chefs into a virtual, Quebec-wide fundraising campaign benefiting our Cancer Information Helpline. Last year, over 13,000 Quebecers used this service.
For the first time, we encourage business people and the general public from across Quebec to show their support for those living with cancer.
We hope you will follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook and donate directly on this website.
The Gala des Grands Chefs is an initiative that allows the Canadian Cancer Society to continue providing support services to people living with cancer through the incredible generosity of business people and the unwavering commitment of talented chefs. This year, we’re inviting you to a different event where your participation, although virtual, will be the key ingredient of our continued success.
Since you had already planned to attend one of our 2020 Galas, why not convert your purchase into a donation and get a tax receipt? Facing losses of $80 million due to the cancellation of its in-person events, the Canadian Cancer Society needs your support now more than ever. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Help us maintain the Cancer Information Helpline for people with cancer and their loved ones.
For every $500 donated, you will receive one entry into a draw for a trip for two in business class to any destination in the world. Courtesy of the Air Canada Foundation. Prize valued at $19,000.
Reserved for Quebec residents only. To be included in the draw, we must receive your donation before December 24, 2020. The draw will take place at the end of January 2021.
Together, let’s keep the conversation going. Help fund the Cancer Information Helpline. Cancer doesn't take a break just because there’s a pandemic, and that makes our Cancer Information Helpline an essential service. It allows us to lend a sympathetic ear and personalized information to people with cancer and their loved ones and to ensure that they don’t feel isolated. Last year, in Quebec alone, our cancer information specialists responded to nearly 13,000 requests for support, because no one should have to face cancer alone.
Once I got past the shock, I had to face reality. I had to deal with treatments every day. It was very painful, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I was suffering so much but did not talk about it.
Then one day I called the Cancer Information Helpline and the person on the other end of the line took the time to listen to my story. I was finally able to share my deep dark secret I wanted to die. But I found the strength to go on because that person truly listened. If I hadn’t made that call, I don't think I’d be here now.

Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and many of us have been affected by the disease either directly or indirectly. Our partners embrace our vision of creating a world where no Canadian has to fear cancer. Their support is what allows us to improve and save lives. Together, we are bigger than cancer!
For the first time, this virtual Quebec-wide fundraising campaign for the Gala des Grands Chefs is appealing to the entire business community and to the general public. Join our ambassadors and chefs and be part of this movement of solidarity with those living with cancer.
Help change the future of cancer by supporting the Canadian Cancer Society, the largest charity in Canada to fund all types of cancer, raise awareness on cancer prevention, and provide the most support services, while being a trusted source of information.
