Over $200,000 raised through the first virtual fundraising campaign of the 2020 Gala des Grands Chefs.

Since the start of the pandemic, the number of requests for support has been at an all-time high, reaching over 300 requests per week. And as of early January, the number of requests remains just as high.

Thanks to you, our cancer information specialists can continue to keep the conversation going with people affected by cancer and their families.

The lucky winner of the trip offered courtesy of the Air Canada Foundation is a resident of the Outaouais region.

Once again, we are deeply grateful for your incredible generosity! See you soon!

A transformed Gala!

For more than 20 years, the Canadian Cancer Society has been the driving force behind the Gala des Grands Chefs, an event involving over 3,000 people from the business community and some sixty renowned chefs from eight regions of Quebec.

This year, because of the global pandemic, we won’t be able to gather for a gourmet meal and raise money for the cause like we usually do.

So we turned the Gala des Grands Chefs into a virtual, Quebec-wide fundraising campaign benefiting our Cancer Information Helpline. Last year, over 13,000 Quebecers used this service.

For the first time, we encourage business people and the general public from across Quebec to show their support for those living with cancer.

We hope you will follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook and donate directly on this website.

Help us keep the conversation going

The Gala des Grands Chefs is an initiative that allows the Canadian Cancer Society to continue providing support services to people living with cancer through the incredible generosity of business people and the unwavering commitment of talented chefs. This year, we’re inviting you to a different event where your participation, although virtual, will be the key ingredient of our continued success.

Together, let’s keep the conversation going. Help fund the Cancer Information Helpline. Cancer doesn't take a break just because there’s a pandemic, and that makes our Cancer Information Helpline an essential service. It allows us to lend a sympathetic ear and personalized information to people with cancer and their loved ones and to ensure that they don’t feel isolated. Last year, in Quebec alone, our cancer information specialists responded to nearly 13,000 requests for support, because no one should have to face cancer alone.

Once I got past the shock, I had to face reality. I had to deal with treatments every day. It was very painful, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I was suffering so much but did not talk about it.

Then one day I called the Cancer Information Helpline and the person on the other end of the line took the time to listen to my story. I was finally able to share my deep dark secret I wanted to die. But I found the strength to go on because that person truly listened. If I hadn’t made that call, I don't think I’d be here now.

The Gala des Grands Chefs usually fosters networking by allowing business people to consolidate their relationships and forge new ones. But this time, we’re asking you to use your network to support the Cancer Information Helpline. People with cancer and their loved ones should never feel isolated. We must keep the dialogue going with them.

Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and many of us have been affected by the disease either directly or indirectly. Our partners embrace our vision of creating a world where no Canadian has to fear cancer. Their support is what allows us to improve and save lives. Together, we are bigger than cancer!
