Calgary: Susan's Dragonfly's - CIBC Run for the Cure

Susan's Dragonfly's

  • Welcome to My Fundraising Page - I'm so appreciative of you all !!
  • Most of you know about my journey that began last year on March 2, 2023 when I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer, during a routine mammogram.

What resulted very quickly was surgery on April 6th, 3 month of chemotherapy which began on May 30th, and then 24 rounds of radiation that went from Nov 7th to Dec 7th.

You tend to remember each and every day and event that is still “burned” into your mind and soul.  I am so very grateful for the support, love, and empathy from my family, friends and colleagues who were all there supporting me and helping me “get through one day at a time”.  I could NOT have gotten through it without them.  I was one of the lucky ones!! It was honestly one of the worst years and experiences of my life.  But I came out on the other side, so very grateful for my husband Tom, my son Riley and daughter Katelyn, and my special life long friend Brenda, who helped me get through those agonizing days with the surgery, chemo, and radiation.  Any kind of cancer is a difficult and heartbreaking experience but I was one of the lucky ones who came out the other side with a smile on my face, and so grateful to say that I am in remission.

Today, just 1 month before the CIBC Run for the Cure which is on Oct 6th, I thought it best to get up and stand proud and rally to offer my support for those women dealing with Breast Cancer.  There are others out there who do not have as much support as I did and do.  So starting this year I would like to participate in the CIBC Run for the Cure.

I and my family will be there and if you would like, I would love to see many of my friends and colleagues out there as well.   Please be part of my team !!

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal and make a life-changing difference for so many people. Every dollar I raise will fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease. I’m living proof of how far we have come in the medical treatment for breast cancer.

Please donate today. I believe better treatment options and survival outcomes are possible. Together, we can give Canadians impacted by breast cancer a reason to have hope. And we can help change the future for all.

Thank you! I appreciate your generous support and hope to see you out there on October 6th.  With gratitude and love. Xoxo Susan
