Sunday October 1st is "Run for the Cure 2023" My team and I are about to embark on our 8th Run For The Cure. This year's walk is dedicated to My Beautiful Mother who we recently lost to stage 4 colon cancer. When she was diagnosed, they gave her 3-5 months, but because of the research and advancement of treatments and cures, we had her with us for almost 3 years. As well, we dedicate our walk to Dana and Charmaine, and as always, for Val, for Thai-lin, for Lorraine, for My Daughter, for My Sister-By-Heart, for My Daughters-In-Law, for My Mother-In Law, for My Sisters-In-Law, for My Nieces, and for All The Amazing Women In My Life, and of course, for Myself. When I see my reflection in the mirror, my partial breast, the scars, and the three tiny blue tattoos, I remind myself not to look at it as ugly or grotesque, but as a beautiful reminder that I fought like a warrior and kicked Cancer's Ass. I've always donated but as a "Breast Cancer Survivor" it's a cause that is very close to my heart. I am extremely grateful for how far their research has brought them in the cure for breast and other cancers, and want to give back or repay them for their amazing work. Without it, I can only imagine what my prognosis might have been. But because of it, I'm here to ask, "Please join us in the fight for the cure, and the continuing research it provides."
