2016 is the year we got news that developed such anxiety and fear. It was the news that our mama was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

Our mom went from being strong and healthy to having to do chemo and radiation and fighting to beat cancer, but after much treatment, she finally kicked cancer's ass!

In 2019 we had plans to go on a family vacation, but she wasn't doing well again, and we all had a gut feeling... That's the year when we got the news that the cancer came back terminal and spread throughout her bones. My mom being the strong mama that she is, didn't want to cancel our family trip, so we decided to stay within Canada and travel the East Coast. Despite her being in pain, she still managed to push through and spend each day on the trip with a smile on her face. 

After going through few surgeries this past year, her positivity and outlook on life is stronger than ever. Our mama is our hero, our ray of sunshine, our motivation to always live life with a smile. She is the most selfless, positive person. Despite her cancer being terminal, we believe that miracles can happen.

We are participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 6,2024, because we believe better treatment options and survival outcomes are possible. And we want to support all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, including our family and friends.
