Luzma's Story:

Our mom was first diagnosed in 2009 with stage three breast cancer. A battle in which she fiercely took on through intense surgical procedures, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Through the help of the London Regional Cancer Program our mom conquered her first diagnosis by the end of 2010. In 2022, Luz was re-diagnosed. This time with stage four metastatic breast cancer. She is currently undergoing more medical treatments in attempt to provide her a stable quality of life as she battles through her diagnosis.

For those who know our story, know it has unfortunately been met with many hardships. However, the support of our friends and family is what fuels all our strengths. For those who know our mom, know that throughout her entire fight she has carried herself as a true valiant warrior with a radiantly bright mindset. Her biggest asset is her positive energy. She is undoubtably the greatest inspiration to everyone around her.

We have come together as a team to support our mother's journey and the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer every year.

We are participating and fundraising for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, because we believe better treatment options and survival outcomes are possible. And we want to support all Canadians impacted by breast cancer, including our family and friends.

With your help, we can reach our fundraising goal and fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and support programs and services for those impacted by this disease. Together, we can create a future without breast cancer.
