Ottawa-Gatineau: Kimmy Cardinals - CIBC Run for the Cure

Ottawa-Gatineau

Kimmy Cardinals

Mid February 2022 Kimmy found a lump. She didn’t receive the official diagnosis until early March. We were told the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, but that it was treatable. We knew there was a long road ahead, chemo, radiation, surgery, but we were all very optimistic. Then she got sick. And it got worse. She was in the hospital for 2 weeks. The scans showed no new spread, but she wasn’t getting better. With all other options exhausted, doctors decided to do a biopsy of her liver. The cancer had spread. We were shocked - blindsided. We watched our Kimmy pass 3 days later on April 2nd. It all happened too fast, too soon. She had given so many people so much joy, and she had so much left to give. We run for our Kimmy. Please help us honour Kimmy by donating what you can. Thank you.
