Toronto Phoenix is participating in the Run for the Cure for 7 consecutive years! This is an incredible team as all members are committed to make a difference, to show Canadians that we care and support this meaningful cause. Over the years, we’re so grateful that with the support from our friends and families, our team was able to raise over $230,000 and was humbled to be the top Family and Friends team in the Richmond Hill/Markham site.

As all members have been affected by breast cancer either directly or with friends and families, we all understand how important it is to raise funds for the ground-breaking research and support programs. With that in mind, we had been doing our best to raise funds in creative ways.

* Margaret would be performing her annual charity fish sale.

* As a gardening specialist, Lin’s plants have always been popular when she offers them away.

* Helen would be putting up her original painting for sale.

* Xiaoyan, Fornia, Ivy, Fornia, Joanne, Bonnie, Heidi and Irene made their handmade soap available for more people to enjoy.

* When one of our members, Tiffany, passed away, her family was kind enough to donate over 50 lovely plants and Fornia and Michelle organized a plant sale at the Richmond Hill/Markham run site with all the proceeds donated to the Run.

* Wenjue's stone painting was a huge success on the Run day when we organized a charity sale at the Richmond Hill/Markham site. 

We pledge to raise more funds because we know how difficult it is for every woman and man to go through breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and for some, simply living with cancer. We remain hopeful that better treatment options are out there and more caring programs and support services are possible.
