I was diganosed with Breast Cancer in 2020 during a world wide pandemic at the age of 38. My Mom battled breast cancer in 2008 and beat it. She lost her fight to stomach cancer in 2015. This made my diagnosis a harsh and scary reality. Processing my diagnosis was extremely hard. The silver lining was that I found my cancer at stage 1. Early dectection is so important. 

I had 2 surgeries, including a lumpectomy and a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. I was extremely fortunare to avoid radiation and chemotherapy. Many others is not as fortunate and have to battle much harder to beat cancer.

Early this year I was discharged from the Tom Baker Cancer Center. :) I still live with the fear of cancer coming back.

I have been asked to play in a slow pitch fundraiser called Batting for Breast Cancer on September 10th in Airdrie.

This is a great moment for me. I love ball! I have had to work hard to build back up my upper body strength so I can play again. I'm not as good as I was pre cancer but I can play again. Go Dozers Go!
