I am participating in Cops for Cancer 2020 - Tour De Valley to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
I decided to commit to this Tour so that I could help raise money to help fund childhood cancer research. Every $2,000 I raise will send a child to Camp Goodtimes, which is a place where kids with cancer and their families can go and just be kids. They can experience joy and happiness and try to enjoy normal childhood moments, which will help them get through the challenges of their battle.
This cause is personal to me because my family, my husband's family, and more of our friends and their families then I can count, have all been affected by this terrible disease. I wanted to be able to do my small part in order to help end the suffering of so many. As a mother to four young children, I cannot even imagine the pain and helplessness of watching my child go through this. If I can ride a bike and help bring some joy, well then I will!
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Any little bit counts, but as I mentioned, every $2,000 helps send one child to camp, and I would love to be able to send as many kids as I have!
Thanks in advance for your support!
I will be posting my fundraising efforts along the way, so make sure to keep posted for upcoming events!
