Many or us have been affected by cancer, whether directly or indirectly, myself included. This is why I am so honoured to have been chosen as a participant in the Cops for Cancer 2020 Tour de Valley Ride from September 16-25 to support The Canadian Cancer Society and their mission.
I , together with fellow police, corrections, and emergency service personnel, will embark on a 850-900 km bike race/ride from the city of Tsawwassen to Boston Bar along Highway 1. Throughout the ride we will visit many businesses, schools, and cities/communities to raise funds and awareness. Funds raised from this event helps send children with cancer to camp so that they can experience the joys of being children and of course, for just a while, forget about their illness.
Pledges from this event also helps to fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
I am reaching out to you to help me reach my personal fundraising goal! My mission is to receive enough pledges ($6000) to support three children who will benefit from a camp experience. If I do manage to reach my personal fundraising goal, I will in fact be eligible to ride with my teammates. Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer.
It takes only a few seconds to make a donation that will help make a difference in the life of a child living with cancer. Thanking you in advance for your generosity.
