I have been a Civilian Member with the RCMP since June 2005 when I joined as an RCMP/911 dispatcher. I love my career and being able to help people when they need it the most. I get to talk to people who are going through terrible moments in their life and I can be the calming voice on the phone and able to help them. I have wanted to be a part of Tour de North since I joined the RCMP as I feel it is such an amazing cause. I have a fellow co-worker whose son was diagnosed years ago with cancer, she rode as well as another co-worker. Since then the idea of riding and being a part of this has been more important to me. I have three children of my own and I cannot even begin to comprehend how much of a toll emotionally, mentally and physically it would be to deal with my child going through this. I am hoping to help raise funds and bring attention to pediatric cancer and Camp Goodtimes while making new connections and friends along the way and experiencing a journey of a lifetime.
The money raised from Cops for Cancer Tour de North helps:
• fund leading-edge pediatric cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives;
• provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment;
• and supports our award-winning Camp Goodtimes.
Please donate and help us reach our fundraising goal! Every donation takes us one step further in the fight against pediatric cancer. Online donations are secure and save the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thank you so much for your support!
