Welcome to my fundraising page - and a warm welcome back! to those who supported my fundraising goals in 2014 when I rode the Tour de Rock, proudly representing the Victoria Police Department.
The Canadian Cancer Society Tour de Rock grew from casual conversation between a few police officers over 22 years ago and through yearly campaigns has raised over $26 million - that's magical!
The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has threatened to bring Tour de Rock to a grinding halt for the first time since 1998. The challenge to keep safe all riders and communities impacted every element: the annual rider recruitment of first responders, their training, the traditional Tour de Rock route, team schedule and most fundraising events. What has not halted, however, is the need to fundraise for our community’s youngest who are living with cancer and needing our support.
In a year without rider recruitment, I am privileged to report that I and some of my alumni riders have answered the call to ride this year, and to continue the vital fundraising efforts on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Please help us keep alive the magic of this Vancouver Island phenomenon. The magic happens when our Island communities come together to raise hope and inspiration for these great kids.
Together we are bigger than cancer.
My heart thanks you for your financial support.
