Hello everyone, I am participating in Cops for Cancer 2020 - Tour de Rock to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Tour De Rock looks a little different this year due to Covid 19. For the first time since it started, the Tour De Rock Team will be made up entirely of Alumni Riders from years past. Instead of one large team, small groups of us will ride each day in a specific community, following the same path down the Island until reaching Victoria. I will be riding the final day in Victoria on October 2nd, and look forward to keeping the spirit and message of Tour De Rock alive.
That is our main purpose this year. To visit the communities who have always supported Tour, and remind all of the children and families affected by Cancer that we are still riding for them. Because Cancer does not take a break for anyone or anything. And because of that we still need your support.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
It has been a challenging year for many people. If you see us out in your community give us a honk or a wave to show your support. If you are able, please consider donating to this worthy cause.
