We are participating in Cops for Cancer to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.

On, April 6th, we had a school wide assembly to officially kick off our Pedal for Hope campaign for 2023. 

After a two year of Covid protocol and an alternated visit last year we are happy to announced that Pedal for Hope will be visiting our school this Spring for an official gym assembly. We all know how important this fundraising event is for kids who are currently living with or have recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Together we can make a difference.

We started out very small in 2011 with only a few heads shaved and $2000 collected but we grew and grew with each passing year. Over the course of 6 visits from Pedal For Hope (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2019) and two virtual campaign(2020 and 2021), Newcastle Public School has raised a total of over $ 100 000,00 in donations and so many heads have been shaved and ponytails have been cut.

The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.

Please pledge our school or an NPS team member. Every pledge shows families who have a child with cancer that they do not have to face it alone. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society by reducing administrative costs.
