Hi Everyone, I'm so grateful you've found my page!
My name is Colleen McKee, and I am a grade 12 student at Oak Bay High School. I first joined Cops 4 Cancer in grade 9 as a way to get involved and meet a few friends. After many hours washing cars, two years of project leading, and watching my sister campaign lead back in 2018, I decided this year it was my turn. I've taken on the role of this year's Campaign Leader alongside two of my amazing peers, Katie and Blythe.
It's almost impossible to meet someone who hasn't been affected by cancer in some sort of way, which is why this campaign is so close to my heart. When I was in grade 8, my dad lost his battle to cancer. After losing him back in 2017, I made it my goal to help raise as much money for cancer as I could. He is by far my biggest inspiration for leading this incredible campaign.
After cutting my hair in grade 10, I knew I wanted to chop my hair at least one more time in highschool with Oak Bay C4C. In a little over 2 weeks, I will be cutting my hair again, and I couldn't be more excited. My hair has always made me feel beautiful, which helped with my confidence as a kid. By cutting my hair, my hope is that someone can feel the same.
My goal this year is to raise $1000 to help send sick kids to Camp Goodtimes. With it being my final year involved with Oak Bay's Cops 4 Cancer, it would mean the world to me to reach my goal.
Thank you in advance for your contribution. I appreciate your generosity immensely. <3
