I am participating in Cops for Cancer to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
My mother, Donna Jean, was diagnosed with Cancer, February 2018. They were not able to diagnose what type of cancer she had only that she was terminal. I took leave from work and spent every day with her until she passed, May 3rd, 2018. Losing my mother shook me and my sister to our cores, and life hasn't been the same since.
I think of my mom everyday and dearly miss the evening phone calls to find out how each of our days went. I am riding in her Honour and in her name. I will be wearing a butterfly necklace that contains my moms ashes with me through every leg of this ride.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
