As many of you know, I have been a member of the Vancouver Police for over 23 years. I would like to think that I have made a difference to public safety over all these years, but this year, I want to make an even bigger difference!!
Every year I see countless Law Enforcement Officers train hard and brave the weather to ride hundreds of kilometers to raise funds for Cancer Research.
This year, I am finally getting off my butt and joining the battle!! My family has not been immune to this horrible disease and it was one of the motivating reasons why I wanted to take part in this cause. I will be thinking about those we have lost and celebrate all the survivors.
My body tells me that I should have started training months ago! But I am dusting off my bike and this Spring I am training with 41 law enforcement members cycling to raise funds #forthekids.
In Septmeber, I will ride over 500KM in 5 days to raise money for childhood cancer research.
COVID-19 continues to have an impact on our fundraising efforsts, but the need to help children has NOT changed!
My goal this year is to reach $6000. Unfortunately, with the economy still in recovery mode dute to the pandemic, fundraising continues to have its challenges. Anything you can donate will make a difference as it all adds up! (Tax Receipts will be provided by the Canadian Cancer Society)
The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provide reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offer vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
