I am proud to be participating in Cops for Cancer Tour de North 2023.  Police officers and emergency services personnel from across Northern BC will ride over 800 kilometres in the north to support children and families living with cancer and beyond.  This year we're riding from Prince George to Vanderhoof, up to Fort St. James, back to Vanderhoof, and then west to Prince Rupert.

The money raised from this event will support the Canadian Cancer Society in funding new pediatric cancer research discoveries and sending 600 kids each year to Camp Goodtimes, a medically-supervised recreation experience for children and teens affected by cancer and their families.

I'm riding for my daughter Melody Wardell. She suffered a childhood medical scare that required serious surgery. I felt helpless at the time, but not hopeless. I knew there were supports if things worsened, and knowing this gave me some hope. I was never able to do as much then as I wanted, and this is an opportunity to use her strength to help me help other children.

Every donation takes us one step further to pedal our way to end childhood cancer. Because one child with cancer is one child too many.
