I'm starting a bit late this year due to COVID and different stresses in my life. Nevertheless, no matter what stressors come my way there can't be anything worse that having your child impacted by cancer or worse lose them to cancer. I lost a wife to cancer many years ago and when my first son was born Cops for Cancer was the charity that resonated for me. I now do what I can to support Tour de Rock and the wonderful things they do for children effected with Cancer - specificity Camp Good Times; a place kids can go with their families and forget about their cancer and be kids again.
Please join me in donating to this wonderful cause and, to make it fun, once I raise $1,000 I will dye my hair a crazy colour. It will be shaved off Sept 22 when the riders are in Campbell River so donate soon so I have to have crazy hair as long as possible.
Even though I've coloured my hair for this event several times over the years I still get self conscious when people stare or yell out jokes in public. But I always remind myself that this is my choice and is nothing compared to the kids that loose their hair and have no choice in the matter.
***update - I've surpassed my $1,000 goal and have rainbow coloured hair. Let's see if we can get to $5,000?
Thanks for your support!
