In January of 1989 - one month after my 25th birthday - I found the lump on my collarbone that was quickly diagnosed as Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  Then came the many grueling stage tests to determine how advanced it was. I was at Stage 3.  There's only 4 stages.  Most of 1989 was a blur of chemotherapy that culminated in a month long hospital stay in September.  Fast forward to today. Here I am.  As 2024 is my 35th year cancer free I will celebrate my milestone by shaving my head for the Tour de Rock.

I am participating in Cops for Cancer for which local police agencies and emergency service personnel will ride 1200km from one end of the Island to the other - all to support local children and families living with cancer and beyond. 

The money raised from this event will support the Canadian Cancer Society in fueling new pediatric cancer research discoveries and sending 600 kids each year to Camp Goodtimes, a medically-supervised recreation experience for children and teens affected by cancer and their families.
