BRENDA’s BRAIDS – 2024

Each year for the past 6 years, Ecole Hepworth Central Public School has hold their ANNUAL FUNDRAISER for COPS FOR CANCER.  We are excited to say that our small school has raised over $30 000 in this short time period.

To get the students excited, for this GREAT CAUSE, students start to get energized, as early as April 16, by wearing BRAIDS to school every Tuesday, for a 6 week BRAID BLITZ!!  Those with shorter hair are encouraged to try a braided bracelet or clip and/or simply share their extra special HAWK kindness by doing or saying something nice for someone else.

Once again this year, we are hoping to raise up to $5000 and we are excited that BRUCE POWER is going to match our first $2000.

In true HAWK spirit, we love that students like to get involved to help children, their own age, overcome their battle against Cancer.  Many students will also donate their hair to send off to WIGS FOR KIDS, and all money and hair donations will benefit children and families in our area.

There will be prizes awarded for top donations and we will hold our BIG CUT on May 24, 2024, for those students who to wish to donate 8 inches or more of their hair, shave their heads, and/or have their hair chalked.
