On May 7th I'm planning to cycle solo / unsupported / self-funded across Canada with the goal of completing this adventure in under 60 days. I'm really hoping to raise awareness of Cops for Cancer cause across Canada in the hopes that one day other first responders in our eastern provinces will start their own CFC campaigns. This would hopefully help the Canadian Cancer Society continue to fund important pediatric cancer research and valuable kids programs, like the acclaimed Camp Goodtimes.

To give a little personal background as to why I chose this next challenge.. In 2023 I completed my 15th year as a Cops for Cancer rider and within months of this achievement, our teenaged daughter was diagnosed with cancer. To say it was a shock to us all was an understatement. Since then her world has changed drastically and instead of attending her daily 5.5hrs of competitive gymnastics training, she has been a frequent visitor to Children's Hospital, BC Cancer Agency, and many different medical offices. Fast forward through 6 weeks of radiation and 2 surgeries she is now 4 months into her journey with cancer.

As a parent, there really isn’t much you can do other than hope that she gets the care she deserves and it all works out. However, one of the things that I know I can do, is cycle, and continue to promote this cause in the hopes that one day we don’t need to do this any longer.
