Tour de North 2024: Team Jamie MacPherson - Canadian Cancer Society

Tour de North 2024

Team Jamie MacPherson

Hello, my name is Jamie MacPherson. I work as a primary care paramedic with BC Ambulance in Williams Lake. This is my 10th year being involved with Cops for Cancer tours, and I am proud to riding with the 2024 Tour de North team!

I first became involved with Cops for Cancer in memory of Avril Chevigny, one of my childhood friends. I met her through gymnastics, and we attended the same elementary school, just one grade apart. Avril was diagnosed with Lymphoma and Leukemia at age 6, and passed away from cancer at age 8.

Being involved with Cops for Cancer for 10 years, I've met many families across BC who have faced, or are still facing pediatric cancer. My reasons to ride continue to grow. I ride for Justice, a young boy who has faced cancer multiple times. I ride for Serenity, who donated her bone marrow to her brother with cancer. I ride for Weston and Bennett, twin boys currently in treatment for Leukemia. And so many more...

It's amazing to see the courage and the resilience of these children and their families, and they need our help. The money raised in this campaign goes to fund pediatric cancer research and to a medically supported summer camp named Camp Goodtimes. It truly is a magical place, where kids with cancer get to be just kids.

Please help me reach my fundraising goal! Every donation takes us one step further in the fight against pediatric cancer. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.

Thanks for your support!
