About the event

  • What is Daffodil Dash?

    Daffodil Dash is the Canadian Cancer Society’s first timed, competitive 5k/10k race in the Greater Toronto Area. It will be held on Sunday, September 11 at scenic Erindale Park in Mississauga. Daffodil Dash will be a great chance for runners to test their personal best, run their first competitive race, or train for that big fall run.

  • What is the course like?

    The 5k and 10k Daffodil Dash courses at Erindale Park are mostly flat, with incredible views alongside the scenic Credit River. Terrain varies from asphalt to packed gravel to dirt, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear.

Registration

  • How do I register?

    Click here to register. You will have the option to register as an individual, join an existing team, or create your own team and invite your friends. Runners choosing different distances or aiming for different finish times can still participate together as a team!

  • Can I register on race day?

    If spots are still available on race day, then yes. Daffodil Dash has a limited capacity, with a maximum number of runners in both the 5k and 10k races, so to guarantee a spot in the distance of your choosing, it is strongly recommended that you register online in advance.

Directions and parking

  • How do I get there?

    Erindale Park is located in Mississauga’s southwest, at 1695 Dundas Street West, near the intersection of Dundas Street West and Mississauga Road. It is easily accessible from the 401, 407, 403 and QEW, with a clear park entrance sign visible as you approach on Dundas Street West. Directions for both driving and transit can be found here, download instructions. For up-to-date directions on race day, we encourage you to consult Google Maps or another map/traffic site or app.

  • Where is there parking?

    Parking is available onsite on a first come first served basis at the entrance off of Dundas Street West. There are 400 parking spaces available at this site. Additional parking can be found at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus that is next to the park, for a fee. Parking available at Lots P4, P8, P9, Alumni House or in the CCT Garage.

Before, during and after the race

  • What do I need to do before race day?

    Ensure that you are registered for the race distance of your choosing. If you are raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, be sure to use our easy online tools to ask your friends, family and colleagues to make a donation to support you in your run to fight cancer!

  • What time should arrive onsite on race day?

    Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your start time to ensure you’re not rushed.

  • What should I bring with me?
    +

    Bring yourself, your gear and a positive attitude! Water will be provided at stations throughout the race. See course map for more details.

  • Are strollers allowed on the course?

    Due to health and safety policies, we do not allow participants to run with strollers.

  • Are pets allowed on the course?
    +

    Due to health and safety policies, we do not allow participants to run with pets, with the exception of trained, accredited service animals that are assisting individuals with a medical or physical disability.

  • Are iPods and other personal music devices allowed?

    Daffodil Dash does allow these devices but runners are encouraged to use them responsibly.

  • Is the race chip-timed?

    Yes, both the 5k and 10k courses will be chip-timed.

  • Will I receive a race kit?

    Yes, all registered runners in both the 5k and 10k will receive a race kit bag with your race bib, race t-shirt, and a number of other goodies. Details on race kit pick-up will be announced closer to the event date.

Fundraising

  • Wait, is this a charity event?!

    Yes! Funds raised through Daffodil Dash help the Canadian Cancer Society fight cancer by funding lifesaving research as well as programs and services to help Canadians living with cancer.

  • Do I have to fundraise?

    While all runners are encouraged to raise funds as part of their participation, it is NOT mandatory.

  • How do I fundraise?

    When you register for Daffodil Dash through this website, you will automatically get access to your Participant Centre and accompanying personal fundraising page. Through your Participant Centre, you can customize your personal fundraising page with a photo and story, and you will also have access to a number of tools and resources to help make online fundraising easy.)
