Alex Campbell Conquer Cancer Classic - Support patients by supporting the Vancouver Island Cancer Lodge!
2021 Alex A. Campbell Conquer Cancer Classic is cancelled due to COVID-19. Normally you would be playing golf today in support of the Vancouver Island Lodge.
This is the second year we have had to cancel the Alex Campbell Conquer Cancer Classic due to the pandemic. None of us could have anticipated that the 33rd and 34th year of the tournament would not be held.
This tournament through the generosity of many sponsors and players has raised over $1.25 million to support the Canadian Cancer Society and specifically the Vancouver Island Lodge over the last 10 years. Last year this generosity continued as we raised $38,000 without the benefit of a golf tournament.
A special THANK YOU goes to the Campbell Family for supporting this event as the title sponsor over the years.
While cancellation is an unfortunate outcome of the pandemic, we are still hoping to provide the Vancouver Island Lodge with some much-needed financial assistance from those who are willing to donate. (A new HVAC system for the Lodge and its 21 rooms is the targeted capital improvement this year.) The Vancouver Island Lodge which provides a home away from home for over 2000 up-Island cancer patients each year being treated at BC Cancer Clinic - Victoria.
The legacy of this tournament can continue. Although we may not be able to golf, we can still support the Vancouver Island Lodge by clicking on the Donate button and instantly receive a tax receipt.
Or you can mail us a cheque made out to the Conquer Cancer Classic and send it C/O Conquer Cancer Classic, Uplands Golf Club, 3300 Cadboro Bay Rd., Victoria, BC, V8R 5K.
Please be generous and consider making a donation as we can still golf while others are fighting cancer with the help of the Vancouver Island Lodge.
Thank you from the Alex A. Campbell Conquer Cancer Classic Organizing Committee
and the many cancer patients who attend the VIL
