My name is Jackie Compton Hobbs and I am the representative for Labrador on the Canadian Cancer Society board. 

I decided to organize the Big Land Cancer Relay in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on June 24 to educate and bring awareness to the recent increase of Cancer in our community. This will be a great social event for families and friends of Cancer patients and survivors. 

The relay is also an opportunity to raise money that will be spent directly in Labrador towards Air Daffodil flights. 

We all know the financial strain of travel to and from the island for medical appointments.

Location: Kinsmen Park

Date: Saturday, June 24th

Time: Activities start at 10:00am

There will be a BBQ, hot dog sale, local entertainment and other venders.

Teams must have at least five members to participate.

Each team member must donate or fundraise a minimum of $30 to participate. There will be prizes for the team that raises the most funds before the event.

We invite you to walk our trail in memory/honor of someone with a cancer journey during this event.
