Greetings! I am Carole Lynch, and my artist name is Karelle. Painting is a passion of mine, it makes me happy. I do it for personal therapy, and to leave traces of my colours behind.

February 1, 2022 was the one year anniversary since my bladder cancer surgery. 

To commemorate it, created a unique painting to auction off, to help raise money and support cancer research.  The title of the abstract acrylic painting is "Flourishing"

I am French Acadian from Caraquet NB, and moved to Nova Scotia in 1996. I have always had a creative side, where my imagination and emotions run free. I am happily married, have a little puppy, and I am so grateful for life, and for mother nature's beauty in all her colourful glory.

My cancer journey started in 2019. Throughout that year, I began showing worrysom signs that kept being treated as bladder infection. I was in and out of clinics, emergency visits at the hospital, because my family doctor was off sick for a year. When she came back, I was sent for a CT scan. On December 18th, 2020, I received the news, I had bladder cancer. Five days later, surgery. The results came back and were not encouraging, even if it was stage 1. The cancer cells were aggressive, and I needed a cystectomy, a hysterectomy, and Neobladder construction. It was all happening so fast! I just grabbed on for dear life, and went for a crazy roller coaster ride!

My family doctor and my surgeon are incredible. Anyone who works with them are angels. I am so thankful for each and every one of them. I have a great support system with my husband, family and friends.

I recovered well with hard work, and I am so grateful. Positive attitude and determination were extremely important for me to practice every day, and I still do.
