Run & Row from Toronto to Nottingham for Dad.
I am a Cancer Fighter. I am taking action to change the future of this disease for my friends, family and Canadians nationwide. I am raising awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. I hope I can count on your support!
In the early hours of March 2nd in Nottingham, England. our wonderful Dad, the girls dear Grandad, lost his battle with Prostate Cancer.
Having been diagnosed at an advanced stage in early in 2019, Dad fought this disease hard for the last two years with chemotherapy, radiation and medication.
We really have lost one of the worlds true gentlemen, he remained charming and dignified right to the very last day, our family is devastated with the loss and he will be missed every day.
As a result of the current pandemic, it is not feasible for myself, my wife and our girls to travel to Nottingham for the funeral to say goodbye in person, which is heartbreaking. Instead, I will spend the next 10-12 months raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer in the UK and Canada in Dads memory.
My challenge is to Run and Row 5,599km, the equivalent distance from Toronto to Nottingham between March 2nd 2021 and March 2nd 2022 - my stretch goal is to complete by December 31st 2021.
I will be posting progress updates daily on Instagram using my public profile @bearded_runner_t.o
Dad was diagnosed too late for a cure, but for the rest of us men.... PLEASE do your research, understand your risk and get to the doctors to get checked, if it is caught early enough it can be managed or even cured.
Please donate today and help me reach my fundraising goal! The money raised will help Canada’s brightest researchers make groundbreaking discoveries, provide cancer patients with much-needed support services and ensure that other life-changing work is possible.
Your generosity will help the Canadian Cancer Society continue to make the most impact, against the most cancers, in the most communities across the country.
Make your donation online – it’s fast, secure and will reduce administrative costs so more of your support goes towards the fight against cancer.
Proceeds from my fundraiser will support Prostate cancer
