Running 100 Miles for Sarah!
I am a Cancer Fighter, and as it turns out, so is my cousin Sarah.
In the first week of January 2020, I went to 2 funerals back to back. My one friend's Dad passed away from Cancer, and my other friend's Mom passed away from it. Then I found out my cousin Sarah was diagnosed in December 2019 with Lymphoma.
We have a long history in our family and friends circle with this disease. My Nana who at 94 and still going strong is the oldest of 10. She has lost 6 siblings to Cancer. I have 1 uncle who beat it, and 1 uncle who lost his battle. I have 1 aunt who has beat cancer a number of times, and another who has had a mastectomy. My mom lost her best friend of 40 plus years to Cancer. My beautiful daycare provider is a cancer survivor, but unfortunately her sister was not. My husband's aunt battled cancer just this past year.
That was it, I needed to do something! However, I live in Ontario, and my cousin lives in Alberta. I can't bring her soup. With COVID-19 I couldn't even hug her if I were close enough to do so.
So the Canadian Cancer Society came to the rescue! I can fundraise here, to help and support my cousin there.
I have decided to run 100 miles in 90 days June 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020 to raise awareness and funds. Any support you can provide in the name of my Cousin, the rest of my Family and friends who have battled the disease and the countless people in Canada and around the World who continue to fight it, is greatly appreciated.
Proceeds from my fundraiser will support Lymphoma cancer
