Let's all help defeat cancer!
I am Kayaking for Cancer again (virtually this year) to change the future of this disease and to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. I hope I can count on your support!
When I paddled K4C first in 2012 it was in memory of my brother Ron and in honour of my wife Jocelyn, now an eleven-year breast cancer survivor. In the years before and since then too many others among your families and friends and mine have been afflicted and too many of them have succumbed to cancer. I paddle again this year for all of them, mindful as well of two others I know locally who have recently been through or are currently undergoing cancer treatment, one of them the mother of a close friend, and in memory of the sister-in-law of a close friend from childhood who recently passed away.
Please donate today and help me reach my fundraising goal! The money raised will help provide cancer patients with much-needed support services, and will support Canada’s brightest researchers who continue to make groundbreaking discoveries. Scientists like the young Queen’s University researcher, now at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institue, who was studying the ability of bioluminescence proteins to attract targeted therapies to cancer cells, but is now among those striving to develop a vaccine to benefit all of us in the new age of COVID-19.
