Welcome to my fundraising page!

So another time has come. It is time to say goodbye to the flow we have all known to love. In the past, I have cut my luscious locks for a purpose. Last time I did this was April 5th, 2017. So this April 5th , 2020 will mark another 3 years with growing out the hair. Now I have gone another 3 years with excellent banter and the locks being a conversation starter. Once again, I would like to take a moment to explain why I go about doing this.
About 6 years ago now, my father in law was diagnosed again with this horrible disease. Now, we sat back watching a man, who I have never seen weak struggle. Truthfully that was all we could do, was sit back and watch. There was nothing really any of our family could do. What a horrible thing to sit through. To watch a man who was strong, and one of the nicest men I have met grow weak. As time went on, I decided why not, lets grow out the hair for a great cause. So that's really how its started. But is that enough? Growing my hair out simply for the cause? Is that good enough? I don't think so. I watched a man that I loved fade away, and eventually passing on April 5th, 2015. He passed prior to meeting our son as he was born in June, as well as our daughter a few years later in May 2018. Something that both my wife and I wish we could reverse. He will be remembered by the epic stories we all have of him. April 5th, 2020 marks the 5 year Anniversary of his passing.
Beside this tragic event, cancer has affected my life in other ways. Multiple aunts, family members and my mother have all be diagnosed with this nasty disease. Thankfully, they have all been able to battle it into remission and continue on with living their life. I have watched good friends, coworkers and complete strangers all be affected by this disease.
I can confirm once again the hair is at the perfect length to be donated. However, I ask again that we do something much more then just my hair. I do ask people give a donation as well. As per last time, the person with the highest donation gets to choose my hair choice for a day or two. Last time, a certain individual choose to simply leave it. A nice bob style hair cut with a shaved patch in the back of my head.
Lets raise some money for a great Cause!
Thank you all,
Sam Zilio and family!!

Proceeds from my fundraiser will support Breast cancer
