A tournament like no other! The 8th annual Let’s Body Check Cancer hockey tournament will be back again April 12-14, 2024 at the Cambridge Sports Park.

Mission: The Let’s Body Check Cancer Hockey Tournament is a fun, co-ed event dedicated to raising funds for the fight against cancer.

Vision: Let’s Body Check Cancer (LBCC), along with community partners, endeavours to become a source of contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). With CCS, we aim  to unite and inspire all Canadians to take control of cancer  support the creation of  trusted partnerships with donors and volunteers, and continuously improve the impact of  research, advocacy and support services.

Making a Difference: We have all been affected by cancer. We have all been brought together through the passion of our country’s favourite pastime and we want to help make a difference.

We want to help stop cancer in its tracks by raising funds for cancer research through a fun, clean hockey tournament. It’s why we ask each player to make a minimum donation of $50.00 on sign up. The more we raise, the more we can ensure that no one faces cancer alone. That’s it, that’s all, nothing fancy… just hockey!

In 2022, the Canadian Cancer Society presented a co-funding opportunity to increase the impact that events like LBCC have  on fighting cancer. By donating to and supporting CCS/CIHR Cancer Survivorship Team Grants through Dr Jennifer Jones, our donation was  matched dollar-for-dollar!

This means we doubled  our fundraising impact!

The CCS/CIHR Cancer Survivorship Team Grants through Dr Jennifer Jones is run through Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. It is a UHN Canadian cancer rehabilitation team, striving to improve the identification, management and treatment of adverse effects of cancer – to make life better for people living with and beyond cancer treatment.
