Thanks for visiting our page! We are about to enter year four of a five year commitment to raise $25,000 which will be matched.. all to support brain cancer research.
Our five year goal combines several aspects about which we feel strongly - helping to make progress on all types of cancer given our familiy history, focusing for five years on a type of cancer (brain) that has not received enough attention over the years and for which the outcomes are not as good as one would like; and finally to honor our nephew Blair, who thankfully is one of the long term survivors from brain cancer. We visited Blair when he was living in Japan a few years ago and we had a wonderful exposure to his exotic life!
As most of you know I was involved for many years with the Canadian Cancer Society and know they spend their research money wisely and on internationally competitive research. The money we raise in this family/friend venture will be matched and help the CCS achieve the progress they hope for in brain cancer.
Thanks for helping with this important cause. Terry and I were happy to get the ball rolling in 2014 with this venture and we look forward to joining with family and friends to complete the five year commitment.
We'd be thrilled if you made a pledge to our family project. Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight for life. Online pledging is secure and saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs. If you'd like to make a donation in person, please contact us and we'd be happy to handle it in the 'old fashioned way'!
Thanks for your support!
I made it to 65!!
Trying to get the ball rolling by using my 65th birthday as an excuse to ask friends to donate! While that is the easy thing to say, it is an important milestone for me, as only one of my five siblings who have predeceased me made it to their 65th birthday.. so while young in today's world, in my family it's an accomplishment!
