My story (why the hair, beard was for fun)
This is the 20th year since my mother succumbed to Leukemia. I was 10 and unfortunately a lot of what I remember was being at the hospital, days on end, seeing all the kids with no hair looking very sick. I have always planned to grow my hair and donate it to make these kids' lives a little brighter. However, I have always had a job which have had strict hair standards and I could not grow it long enough to donate. When I became a teacher with the Calgary Catholic School District I took my chance to grow out my hair. What I did not expect was how attached you become to hair and appearance. This is why the short notice, it has been very hard to actually plan this because then I would actually have to do it! But I can always grow my hair back out! (if my wife lets me!)
I am participating in a fundraiser to support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The money raised helps fund the most promising research projects in the country, provide information services and support programs in the community and advocate for public policies that prevent cancer and help people living with cancer.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight for life. Online pledging is secure and saves the Canadian Cancer Society money by reducing administrative costs.
Thanks for your support!
