Our 16th year of the Ride2Survive will start a new evolution of the event and especially with the effects of COVID-19, what the event looks like or when it will be is unknown.
What we do know is that cancer isn't taking a COVID holiday. 225,000 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
Research is still required and we continue to fund it the same way we always have... with ALL of your donation. In fact, for the last several years we have secured matching grants for your donations to double the impact of the research we fund.
The Ride2Survive decided to invest in the future via research before it was needed. In this time of cancer treatments being postponed due to COVID-19, some treatments are able to continue as there are now chemotherapies that can be self-administered at home... that didn't exist 10 years ago.
We are riders and crew, we are board members, organizers, we live and breath this event and have since the inception 16 years ago.
Why, because we care and because the diagnosis of Cancer scares the crap out of us.
So what do we do, we do something to make a difference.
Research changes, almost in a blink of an eye. How many people we’ve met, who if diagnosed 5 years ago, would not be here, but today, they are living and enjoying life.
We have the impact to be part of that. With so many types of Cancers, so many stages of each one, the list is long, so we put our donation dollars where we feel they are most needed. We know that many cancers have poor outcomes, partly because the donation dollars just aren’t there.
